Maintenance Dredging
Popponesset Bay
The Barnstable County Dredge ‘Cod Fish II’ will be conducting dredging operations in the South Channel of Popponesset Bay starting Wednesday, September 22nd through Wednesday, September 28th (weather and equipment status will determine dredging times), the hours of operations are Monday thru Saturday 0800 to 1600.
The ‘Cod Fish II’ is stationary and has limited maneuverability while dredging. The discharge pipe maybe floating at times and may block the channel. Mariners are requested to give adequate clearance to the dredge equipment at all times.
The Dredge and supporting watercraft can be contacted via VHF Channel 16 and 18.
Below is a link that will show you the area to be dredged and more information about the project.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for Watching!

Over 150 members of our community gathered on the Spit last week to enjoy live music, play yard games, eat Polar Cave ice cream, and watch the full moon rise! It was so fun seeing all of the kids running around the beach, and families enjoying this special place.

I say, YEAH, what a summer on Popponesset Bay!  The weather has been glorious, the Spit and various channels feeding the bay have stayed in great shape.  Plovers and other birds have born their young, kids have a great time searching for sea creatures in the inner channel,
